Intro to hiking with my Grandson!

I'm currently trying to work out a trip to introduce, my 13 year old grandson into Hiking / Backpacking. During the upcoming Spring Break I need to plan an exciting trip with just the right mix of distance, with out stressing an inexperienced young man.

It will be on the FLTrail likely 2 days & 2 night at first.

I'm looking at starting at Lake Delancy Campground in the Ocala National Forest March 16. We will likely ;tent in the Delancy campground the first night, pack up our gear and ;hiker out the next day March 17. Camp out the second night and then return to the campground again on the next day March 18. Possibly extending the trip to March 19.

We can then ;hiker the trail, until we are ready to ;tent. Their is available on this hike potentially about 12 miles of trail. With countless places to camp, in open Pine Forest.

This should be good for an inexperienced ;hiker.

We will carry enough food / water for a 2nd night on the trail. Giving us the potential to increase the distance or just enjoy the Wilderness experience.

This Will also be the first test of the URSACK Bear bag. This area is known for plenty of bear activity.
