Worm Moon

What Is a Worm Moon?
The Worm Moon gets its name from the earthworms that come out when the soil warms up. The worms provide food for birds and other animals.

It happens around the changing of the seasons, from astronomical winter to spring in the Northern Hemisphere.

Early Spring and New Beginnings
The Anglo Saxons called the March Full Moon the Lenten Moon. Lenten is derived from Germanic languages and means spring. The Lenten Moon has also given its name to the Christian Lent period before Easter.

The March equinox has had great cultural significance through the times, and many cultures still celebrate new beginnings, rebirth, purity, cleaning, and chaste or lean living around this time.

Awakening of Nature
Native American tribes named this Moon after early spring and the awakening of nature: Crow Moon for the crows coming back, Snow Crust Moon after the crust which forms on top of the snow as it melts and re-freezes, and Sap or Sugar Moon for when the maple sap runs.

The Celts called it the Wind Moon and Plough Moon from preparing the fields for the growing season. In Old English, it was known as the Chaste Moon, referring to the purity of the spring season.

Current administration could at any time getting us into a kinetic war directly. Not worrying but being ready, To monitor things around the world if the need arises. Not that i can do any thing but would be nice to know whats going on when the grid power and internet goes down.

Took a ride Monday May 4 through the Ocala National Forest, stopped buy some state park camps. Yep still closed, NF dispersed camp sites closed also. Sign 20 ft up a tree"DUE TO HEALTH CONCERNS AREA IS CLOSED LAW ENFORCMENTBIS PATROLLING" I have camped there many times over the years I have never seen Law Enforcment patrolling there, Lets not get to close to nature.

Well I discovered if you want to camp you must hike in on the trail or travel back some NF Road well into back country. As if camping by nature is not social distancing. It almost like you have to sneek into the woods no to camp! Just crazy insane but I did find some nice spots its been on my agenda anyway to find some very remote sites.

With the Super-Flower-Moon comming on May 7 its going to be the last super moon for 2020. Cant miss this one got nice open spot deep in the woods. Rolling open hills tall pines very spectaular sopt. I'm planning to do my 17th-early 18th century camp setup. What better way very primitive camp deep in the forest.

Closing the World

:-\\
Well looks like everything is closing.

The beaches are now all closed, no access no fishing threatening to arrest if caught on the beach! Well with food being short in the stores it would be nice to catch some fish.

Campgrounds all closed? Social distancing is the camping way of life! So far the National forest is still open if you walk there parking is shut down. Walk to the forest with backpack hike in the back country looks like only option, possibly may be able to find dispersed, hidden spots.

Just placed order online for groceries first time hope it goes well.
