Finished mounting Rotax Engine I installed studs and rubber vibration mounts.

Completing some of the flight controls.

I'm working on flight controls, I need to get that worked out so I know where to mount some of the engine components as not to interfear. Rotax is oil injected, water cooled so I must mount radiator, coolent tank and oil tank. I was hopping to go with Air cooled Rotax, I do not like mixing oil / gas, so oil injected little extra weight with water cooling still hoping for Part 103 outcome.

Little extra power from Rotax 467 can't hurt over the 447. And I got great deal on the 467 as it was complete engine less redrive.

My Hornet Gyro Build

I relize at my age this is very ambisuis undertaking. But I always seem to need a project to be working on. I'm learning to fly, studying at home and online for Sport Pilot so that i can fly in the Ultra light class. My Hornet will be in FAA PART 103, which will not require any registration or lisense to fly. But many hours of instructor training is needed to fly safely.

This project will take several years to complete, Of coarse if I was younger had more money it could be done fairly quickly. But that is not my situation. In the process now of gathering knowledge and materials. I have some Aluminum and have started cutting and layout of the Air Frame. When the main components are fabracited it will start to look like something but will be far from complete. The Air Frame is reletively easy. Flight controls and mechanical systems will take some time.

Laying out Airframe

Pre-Assembly of air frame

Center holes for compression struts.

Test fitting landing gear

Mockup Rotax engine and flight insterments

I hope to get around to making a page just for the build.

Categorical Exclusion Statement Ocala National Forest

March 27, 2020
Project Title: Ocala National Forest Recreation Sites Emergency Closure Order

Project Description: The Ocala National Forest proposes to restrict public recreational activities and opportunities including, but not limited to: hiking, fishing, OHV, bicycling, equestrian activities, picnicking, loitering, paddle-craft, motorized watercraft/airboats, swimming, and camping.

Hunting (as determined by State of Florida laws, permits, and WMA access) may be allowable on a case-by-case basis with valid permits. These prohibitions are to protect the general public and agency employees’ health and safety in accordance with current CDC guidelines for social distancing.

Expiration: JULY 24, 2020. Location: All developed, non-developed, dispersed, and contracted/permitted recreation sites and facilities, including roads and trails on the Ocala National
Forest in Florida.

So it looks like the only place our Government thinks it's safe for us to go or be at is the Grocery Store Where EVERYBODE ELSE GOES.

WHAT IS THE MOTIVE FOR THIS HOAX! We are losing our rights.

Took a ride Monday May 4 through the Ocala National Forest, stopped buy some state park camps. Yep still closed, NF dispersed camp sites closed also. Sign 20 ft up a tree"DUE TO HEALTH CONCERNS AREA IS CLOSED LAW ENFORCMENTBIS PATROLLING" I have camped there many times over the years I have never seen Law Enforcment patrolling there, Lets not get to close to nature.

Well I discovered if you want to camp you must hike in on the trail or travel back some NF Road well into back country. As if camping by nature is not social distancing. It almost like you have to sneek into the woods no to camp! Just crazy insane but I did find some nice spots its been on my agenda anyway to find some very remote sites.

With the Super-Flower-Moon comming on May 7 its going to be the last super moon for 2020. Cant miss this one got nice open spot deep in the woods. Rolling open hills tall pines very spectaular sopt. I'm planning to do my 17th-early 18th century camp setup. What better way very primitive camp deep in the forest.
